Life Skills Program
PRE-EMPLOYMENT LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM
This program is funded by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department. The goal of this twelve-week program is to enhance the inmate’s chance of success in finding worthwhile employment upon his release. The inmates learn how to obtain documents needed to search for a job and how to fill them out properly (i.e. social security cards, driver’s license), skills and interests inventories, resume writing, interviewing skills, and money management.
PARTNERSHIPS
Since many of our inmates return to the city and towns of Plymouth County without jobs or places to live, the Sheriff’s Department has entered into partnerships to provide aftercare services to ex-offenders. Brockton Private Industry Council, through their Gateway Program, offers assistance in the following areas:
• Job
Training
• The
Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless The Sheriff’s Department is grateful to have the commitment of so many departments and programs to join in the ongoing effort to reintegrate ex-offenders back into our communities
