15,000 hearty chrysanthemums are busy blooming at the Plymouth County Farm, Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph D. McDonald Jr. has announced. The mums are on sale at our Horticultural Center and Petting Zoo on Obery Street, next to the new Plymouth County Trial Court. Farm Director, Ted DeCristofaro says the mums are full and healthy—the result of the best growing season in recent memory.
Along with offering competitive prices on all plants, our Petting Zoo animals –Mary the Cow, Bartlett the Bull, Beak the Chicken, Nunzio the Sheep, Franco the Tortoise, and others look forward to seeing friendly visitors. Suzy, our sow, just gave birth to 8 piglets! Stop by her maternity wing at the Petting Zoo to see the proud pig and her litter. Also, get a sneak peak online at www.pcsdma.org, click on PIGLET PIX. With the mums ushering in the fall season, the pumpkin harvest isn’t far behind. Pumpkins will be on sale in mid-September. The Plymouth County Farm is open 8am to 3pm, 7 days a week. It’s best to visit the animals between 9am and 1pm.
