BCI GETS SMART, NEW LOOK

Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph D. McDonald Jr. is pleased to unveil 5 new Ford Tauruses his Bureau of Criminal Investigation will now be driving to assist local law enforcement with crime scene processing. Check out the video on the department’s YouTube page, www.youtube.com/PCSDPIO .

Officials and residents will start to see the new black Tauruses on the road as early as today. The cars replace the white Crown Victorias which the County has come to expect to see over the years.

“It’s a change; but a smart one.” Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph D. McDonald Jr., said. “The Taurus will provide better gas mileage for the BCI department which responded to 10,000 calls in the county last year.”

The fleet manager for the Sheriff’s Department, Chris Bitteker says, “We are gaining economy but definitely not losing performance.”

These new BCI vehicles are part of Sheriff McDonald’s overall effort to keep costs down and conserve energy.
