     OPERATION HELPING HAND VOLUNTEER HELPLINE

Governor Mitt Romney announced the activation of the Operation Helping Hand Volunteer Helpline for those who wish to volunteer their skills to assist the survivors of Hurricane Katrina who will be our guests in the Commonwealth over the next few months. The number is 1-800-293-4031. Beginning Tuesday, September 6th, the line will be staffed from 7:00am until 7:00pm, seven days a week. The purpose of the Volunteer Helpline is to develop a database of potential volunteers and the skill they can offer when requested. This is NOT for donations. Callers will be advised to continue to make financial donations to appropriate charities and agencies. Material donations may be requested sometime in the future when specific needs are determined.

In Plymouth County, as opportunities to assist become known, we will make every effort to share this information via this website.
